Burlesque Cocktail

Thanks to Ulrika of The Freelancer's Fashionblog I won tickets to attend Burlesque Cocktail, yesterday's event organized by Tampere Burlesque. I've never won in a blog giveaway before so I was really thrilled - many thanks again, Ulrika! The evening was filled with fun and laughter when Sally Vanilla, Unelma, Burlesque Polaire, Lucie Goodness and the Finnish Blonde Burlesque Troupe took the stage. Records were played by DJs Fiona Timantti and Miroslove Satan. It was definitely one of the most fabulously unique burlesque shows I've seen to-date. I mean, how often do you see a burlesque striptease performed by a cabbage worm? Not often enough, I say! I also got to catch up two gorgeous ladies: Fiona Timantti from Diamond Stash and Rhia the Evil Dressmaker, both of whom where both dressed down to a T.

I wore a cute 1950s dress that I recently acquired from the Ebay seller coffee_colored_cadillac. It had never been worn before and was in a glorious condition! Be sure to check out the seller's auctions since they're listing a bunch of stunning dresses at very nice prices. The Christine needlepoint handbag is my very favorite handbag, which came from Dear Golden. According to the seller, Christine of Detroit is a well known vintage label, her expertise in finishing needlework done by local ladies is legendary and unsurpassed. Lastly, the shoes are the beautiful 1940s suede shoes with heartlaces that I got from Tampere Vintage a couple of months back.

I've included a few shots from the burlesque shows under the cut but unfortunately my camera doesn't take very good photos at dark indoors. However, Rhia posted some great photos so do check those out!

  2. Rhia - No, you look way CUTE! I loved your look, especially the headpiece. It was really nice to meet you again, too. It would be fun to go thrifting together sometime since we live in the same city. :)
