Berets, bows and pumps

Today my girlfriend and I went thrifting in the beautiful neighbourhood of Eira, mainly to look for items for our new home. It was a lovely day; the sun was out and it was relatively warm outside. I was pleased to get another jacket free outing, which we are quickly running out of here in Helsinki.

My extempore outfit is a bit of a mixture of everything, both the old and the new. The dress is from the 1940s, the crochet purse is 1930s and the rest are mainly high street finds. Oh, Brittany of Va-Voom Vintage posted about these shoes a while back and I ended up ordering a pair from Ebay. I love the t-strap, the rounded toe and the low heel, which makes them comfortable. Plus, they're very affordable. I'll definitely order another pair in a different colour, they're just so cute and wearable.

I don't know why but I felt a bit Bonnie Parker-ish in this outfit. Although I can't really picture Bonnie Parker rocking a sweater with bows.

Miss L Fire - A/W 2012

What better way to kick off September than with a little bit of fall and winter vintage inspired shoe porn!

Miss L Fire recently released a sneak peek at their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, which will be available for purchase very soon. It is filled with several swoon-worthy vintage inspired shoes. Indeed, it seems that their collections keep getting better and better!

I feel fortunate that we have vintage reproduction companies like Miss L Fire. Vintage shoes especially tend to be small in size and often too fragile for everyday use when you're a person who tends to walk a lot. Plus, fall and winter vintage shoes are especially rare to come across. So this collection really is a gem for someone like myself who lives in cold climate and loves vintage inspired shoes!

Without further ados, here are my favourites pairs from the Miss L Fire A/W 2012 collection. You can view the full collection on their Facebook page. Keep your eyes peeled on their website if you'd like to order a pair!

Havana - Green. I'm sure that every vintage girl and their mother
will have these but I don't really care. They are beyond!

Monaco - Red

Streamlined - Green

Fern - Navy

Delano - Green

Bonnie - Blue
